Big News! – A New Face for FAA-TC!
Thank you to all who contributed to creating our new FAA Logo! The process began last fall with an open call to help shape our logo, followed by member polling to rank, give comments and constructive suggestions on the many thoughtful and creative submissions, which included complete designs, concepts, and advice about essential components. All comments and rankings were carefully considered by the board to ensure the selected logo best communicates the mission and values of FAA.
The chosen design was created by a member’s son, then refined by a graphic designer for our final beautiful new visual identity. Our new logo aspires to reflect our beloved state of Minnesota and our strong and living connection to Finland.
We are proud of this unique, made-for-us logo. It is another important step in making our mark on our local community and beyond, while living out FAA’s mission: We seek to elevate the visibility of contemporary Finland and celebrate our Finnish culture, heritage, and life in Minnesota. We look forward to continuing to build and enhance the Finnish American Association with each of you!

Sep 17 Discover Finnish America: Minneapolis to Cokato
Cost: $60 (includes lunch and transportation)
Your guide is Harvey Barberg—a deeply knowledgeable local historian with personal roots in both Minneapolis and rural Cokato. Harvey knows the people, places and stories that make this community so remarkable, and he’ll bring that history to life throughout the day.
The tour includes five extended stops at historic and contemporary Finnish American sites, offering a fascinating look at how Finnish traditions took root in Minnesota—and how they continue today.

Sep 17-20 – FinnFest USA 2026
FinnFest this year will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from Thursday, Sep 17 to Sunday, Sep 20, 2026. The four-day cultural festival—themed “Minneapolis is
FINNeapolis“—will be held at the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown, featuring Nordic cuisine, live music, a vendor marketplace, and workshops.

Sep 20 – 6th Annual Finn Fun Day
Finn Fun Day will be at FinnFest this year. Outdoor games and playful activities welcome families to move, laugh, and celebrate together.
Hosted by the Finnish Language School of MN, Salolampi Foundation, and the Finnish American Association – Twin Cities.
Please note that Finn Fun Day is free, just join us on the lawn at ASI.
If you would like to participate in the other FinnFest activities and programming
at ASI you will need to have a ticket.
